Scope Information we collect How we use it Household sharing Service providers Retention Your choices Security Children Changes Contact

Oat2 holds plans for the people closest to you. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Scope

This policy covers Oat2’s mobile apps, websites, support, and related services. It does not cover third-party products that have their own privacy policies, such as app stores or websites you open from Oat2.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide or create:

  • account details, such as email address, profile name, and sign-in provider;
  • household membership, invitations, display preferences, and member settings;
  • notes, to-dos, Spaces, prose, dates, assignments, reactions, budgets, decisions, photos, and files you choose to add;
  • agent requests, drafts, feedback, voice transcripts, and attachments when you use agent features;
  • messages you send to support.

We also collect information from your device and use of Oat2:

  • device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, notification token, and diagnostic data;
  • feature interactions, referral links, subscription status, purchase events, and error reports;
  • approximate or precise location when you grant permission for a feature that needs it;
  • photos, microphone input, speech recognition results, or calendar data when you grant access and use a related feature.

App stores and subscription providers send us purchase status and product details. We do not receive your full payment card number.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create accounts, connect household members, and synchronize shared content;
  • show Days, Notes, Spaces, Activity, reminders, search results, and other requested features;
  • process photos, voice input, location requests, subscriptions, and agent requests you start;
  • send invitations, service notices, notifications, and support replies;
  • protect accounts, investigate abuse, fix errors, and keep the service reliable;
  • understand feature use and improve Oat2.

We use consent, contract performance, legal obligations, and legitimate interests as legal bases where applicable. The legal basis depends on the information and where you live.

4. Sharing inside your household

Household members can see shared content, activity, assignments, reactions, and member details that Oat2 presents to the household. A member may change or remove shared content. Use invitations with care and review household access when relationships or living arrangements change.

Content may remain visible in another member’s exports, screenshots, notifications, or device backups after you edit or delete it from Oat2.

5. Service providers and other disclosures

We give service providers the information they need to support cloud storage, databases, authentication, notifications, analytics, error monitoring, deep links, subscriptions, email, image processing, maps, speech, and agent features.

When you ask the agent for help, Oat2 sends the request and relevant household context to AI providers that process the request for us. We limit context to what the feature needs and apply access controls around agent operations.

We may also disclose information:

  • when you direct us to share it;
  • to comply with law or a valid legal request;
  • to protect a person, Oat2, or the public from harm;
  • as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where law requires it.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use household content for third-party advertising.

6. International processing

Oat2 and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. We use contractual and legal safeguards for cross-border transfers where required.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep account and household content while you use Oat2 and for the time needed to provide the service. We may keep backups, security records, billing records, and legal records for longer periods.

Oat2 keeps transient agent content for a limited support and safety window, which is set to 14 days for current agent records. We may keep aggregated usage records and de-identified information after deleting account content.

You can request account deletion through the app or by contacting us. Deletion may affect content shared with a household. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act on a request.

8. Your choices and rights

You can edit or delete content, change notification settings, remove device permissions, leave a household, or cancel Premium through your app store account.

Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the use of your personal information. You may also object to some processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a request decision. Contact us to make a request. You may complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect Oat2 data, including access controls and household-scoped authorization. No online service can promise complete security. Protect your account, keep device software current, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.

10. Children

Oat2 is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. Contact us if you believe a child gave us personal information without the consent required by law.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Oat2 changes. We will update the effective date and give notice in the app or by email when a change requires it.

12. Contact

Send privacy questions or rights requests to hello@getoat2.com.
